The 1-Minute Rule
For SSC JHT Paper I, you have 120 minutes to solve 200 Questions. This means you have a very narrow time window to solve the entire paper. Hence, begin by inspecting the paper first (through basic scanning) and try to deduce which question will take the least time.
Marking questions which are less time consuming will definitely help candidates score better.
Solving Grammar-based Questions
To solve questions based on Grammar in SSC JHT Exam, these are the simple directions that every aspirant must follow.
- Read the sentence carefully try to figure out the error.
- Read all the options and try to fit them in the question, one at a time.
- Always repeat the sentence and analyze in your head if it sounds right after selection of an option.

Solving Non-Grammar based Questions
To solve questions based on Non-Grammar Topics like Idioms, Proverbs, RC, Cloze Test, Para jumbles in SSC JHT Paper I, these are the simple directions that every aspirant must follow.
- Read the complete paragraph/ portion in one go.
- Try to link it with the existing options.
Guess Work is a Big NO-NO
The options mentioned with each question, especially para jumbles, have similar answers and aspirants get confused at times. Focus on solving the problems based on proper grammatical rules and vocabulary rather than guesswork. Getting Zero marks is better than a negative score.
Vocab Related Questions
In the case of vocabulary based questions, like Antonyms, Synonyms, One Word Substitution, there are instances when the word or phrase has never been heard or encountered before. In such cases, refer to our Rule #5 of not guessing anything. Just skip.
Similar to most exams, time is of the essence here. You need to dedicate time to the topics you are confident in rather than face an entirely new challenge. Try and solve the easiest looking problems first. This will definitely boost your confidence.
