Bank of Maharashtra PO Recruitment 2016: How to get recruited?
Similar to a number of Bank Posts, the selection procedure for Bank of Maharashtra PO to get recruited is a 2 Tier Process. The two stages are
- Phase 1: Online Written Examination
- Phase 2: Interview/ Group Discussion
The candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their performance in these two tests. One needs to score the minimum required cut-off in the online written examination to be eligible to appear for the interview round.
Once the candidate clears both these levels, he/she will have to undergo a one-year diploma training at a training institute and 3 months of internship. Here, each candidate will be assessed on the basis of their overall performance during the training period and internship.

Bank of Maharashtra PO Phase I: Online Written Examination
The Online Written Examination will be Objective MCQ type in nature. A candidate will have to answer questions from the following 4 topics
- Reasoning Ability
- Quantitative Aptitude
- English Language
- General Awareness
A total number of 200 questions will be asked in the written examination, in the total time of 2 Hours i.e. 120 Minutes.

- The questions will be multiple choice.
- The exam will be bilingual (English/ Hindi) except for the subject of English Language.
- Negative marking is applicable for wrong answers.
- The time allotted for solving 200 questions, 50 each from every subject is 2 hours (120 minutes).
- The maximum marks for 200 questions is 200, one mark for every question.
Note: The cut-off score for each subject will depend on the number of minimum eligible candidates available.
Each candidate will have to achieve a minimum score in each subject of the exam as per the cut-off score separately. Also, he/she is expected to score a minimum total score in order to be shortlisted for the interview.
Bank of Maharashtra PO Phase II: Personal Interview/ Group Discussion
After successfully qualifying in the Online Written Examination, the shortlisted candidates will be invited for a personal interview or a group discussion, depending on the situation.
- In the Interview, they will be questioned by a panel of concerned bank authorities.
- For the Group Discussion (GD), a topic will be given where the candidates will have to discuss and present their views on it.
- Based on merit, candidates will be further shortlisted.
After BOM Phase-II, the shortlisted candidates will have to undertake a one-year diploma in Banking (PGDBF) from the Bank-empaneled Institute along with a 3-month internship in bank branches.
The candidates will have to pay for the diploma on their own while for the internship, they will be given a monthly stipend of Rs. 20,000. Only after successfully completing all these stages, a candidate will be placed in branches of Bank of Maharashtra.
