Some Important Guidelines to Follow During Preparation:
- Nobody knows better than you about what works for you. So chart your own preparation plan and schedule.
- Make it mandatory to prepare a Handbook containing the Formulae that need to be learnt and their gist. This handbook can be pretty useful during the last days before the exam as a quick reckoner for calculations.
- Also make it a habit of preparing short notes on all topics that you have been studying. These will be useful to revise faster during the last days of the exam
- Make sure you also give equal weightage to Mathematics and General Aptitude. Each constitutes 15 % of the total marks in the question paper. These sections are scoring and go well to add up to your overall score in GATE 2016 exam.
GATE 2016 Syllabus for Computer Science Engineering/IT: It is important that you know what the GATE 2016 syllabus for CS is before starting your preparation for GATE 2017. It will help to know the topics that will feature in the GATE 2017 exam. You can plan the preparation topic wise such that there is ample time for revision.
GATE 2016 Sample Papers: It is important to practice what you have studied by solving the previous year papers. This gives the following advantages:
- The Question Paper Pattern becomes very familiar.
- You can know the type of questions to expect.
- You can hone your time management skills
- You can schedule your exam strategy
Some of the subjects will have more preference compared to others. Makes a list of subjects depending on marks from previous question papers. The distribution of marks helps the students to allocate the time for preparation. If the distribution is not made, then there will be random preparation in which there is no time for preparing the important subjects. Students should allocate the realistic time for all the subjects.
