How to Attempt SBI PO Prelims 2016: The State Bank of India will conduct the Preliminary Examination for SBI PO on 2nd, 3rd, 9th and 10th July 2016. There will be 2 slots for the written examination. SBI PO is one of the major bank recruitment exams conducted by State Bank of India for the post of Probationary Officer. Approximately 30 Lakh Aspirants have submitted the application form successfully for 2400+ PO Posts.  


Attempt SBI PO Prelims 2016: Tips to Crack Written Examination 

The Written Examination will be conducted in a 3 phase process i.e. Prelims, Mains and Interview. SBI PO Prelims will be qualifying in nature and approximately 50,000 students will be declared as Qualified for SBI PO Mains Examination. Even if only 67% of the registered candidate appear for the paper, then as per our analysis, around 2.5% of the total will manage to qualify for the later stages.

Time Management while Attempting SBI PO Prelims

Create a Priority Order in which you will attempt SBI PO Prelims 2016. This will include the section that is to be attempted first and in what order the other sections follow. The decision of section to start solving first will be based on the number of topics that are among your strengths. The section that has maximum topic as your strength will be the first.

For most Bank Exam Aspirants, maximum banking aspirants consider Reasoning Ability as their First Preference. The ideal order for attempting SBI PO Prelims is usually 

  • Priority #1: Reasoning Ability
  • Priority #2: English Language
  • Priority #3: Quantitative Aptitude

Divide 60 minutes in such a time frame so that time can be managed with each section without making compromise in sectional and overall accurate attempts. The Ideal Time management Sheet will be like this

Note: Priority, Time and Good Attempt will vary student to student as every student has different topic in different section as strength but make sure that your total accurate attempt should not be less than 58-65.


SBI PO Prelims: Do’s and Dont’s

  1. Read the paper first and start the paper according to the Time management plan.
  2. In sections, attempt the topics that lies among your strengths, don’t go for the weak topics.
  3. Don’t attempt the Questions that seem to be unsolvable within 1 minute. As you have less than one minute for each Question.
  4. Don’t try to attempt any new type of Question in order to increase attempts.
  5. Avoid Making Guesses as negative marking is involved.
  6. Try to solve as many sets as possible over singles as it takes less time cumulatively.
