Students often face problems in English section especially students who belong to Hindi medium. Others don’t have good sources or approach and end up wasting their time on less important topics.
For the Grammar section, students must refer General English by S.P Bakshi or Plinth to paramount. They should complete it chapters along with the exercise on daily basis. It should be like reading a chapter first, note down some important grammar rules in a notebook and practice questions at the end of the chapter. You can learn Grammar Chapterwise on Onlinetyari Youtube Channel by Manisha Ma’am.
The test-series will help you a lot in practicing and you will get to know your speed. Don’t forget to give Daily mocks at the end of the day.
Make a notebook for vocabulary. Every morning Write down 20 words along with two to three synonyms. You can write Hindi meanings also for your better memory. But you must not forget to write down the tricks to remember those words. This will help you in the long run. Revise them in the gap of two days for a good grasp. Also, Synonyms/Antonyms are repeated by SSC in Exam. So, solving previous year papers would really help.
For Idioms & Phrases and One-word substitution, Refer M.B Publication. That is more than enough for this Exam.
General Understanding Section
This includes Reading Comprehension, Cloze Test and Parajumbles (PQRS). If you are good at reading, you won’t have much issue in this section. Still few have difficulty in this section so they need to put special efforts for it.
Sentence rearrangement questions (PQRS ) are the most tricky one. Candidates are advised to attempt them in the last due to their time-taking nature.
While doing an RC passage and Cloze Test read the questions first and then go through the passage, this will save time.
