IBPS Clerk Syllabus Exam Pattern 2016: The Institute of Banking Personnel (IBPS) will be conducting the IBPS Common Recruitment Process (CWE) for the recruitment of Clerks in different Public Sector Units of the country. This year, IBPS has announced a total of 19242 Post Vacancies for clerical cadre.
The online application portal for IBPS Clerk will be open from 22 August to 12 September 2016. All the interested candidates must check the Eligibility Criteria before applying for the IBPS Clerk Recruitment Exam.
As the exam is nearly a few months away, it is time for the candidates to start the preparation. This year, IBPS Clerk exam will be conducted online and will follow the same selection process i.e 2 Tier Process. IBPS Clerk Exam Pattern 2016
The IBPS Clerk Recruitment Examination is tentatively scheduled in between the months of November to January. The Exam is divided into two phases i.e. Preliminary Examination and Mains Examination. There will be No Interview involved in the selection procedure. Let’s have a look at the exam pattern for all the stages:
IBPS Clerk Phase I: Preliminary Exam
The Online Computer-Based Test (CBT) for IBPS Clerk Prelims 2016 will be conducted in objective MCQ pattern. There will be 100 questions in total and 3 sections – English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability.

Some of the essential details related to IBPS Clerk Prelims 2016 are as follows.
- The total number of questions will be 100.
- The Paper mode will be English/ Hindi.
- Each question carries 1 mark.
- The total time to solve the entire paper is 60 minutes.
- There will be sectional and overall cutoff.
Marks secured in IBPS Clerk Prelims will be taken into consideration while selecting candidates for Mains.
IBPS Clerk Phase II: Mains Exam
In the Mains examination, there will be 5 sections and 200 questions in total.

There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. The paper will be bilingual in nature i.e. Hindi and English.
