Maha TET/ Maharashtra TET Eligibility Criteria 2015: Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test, or Maharashtra TET has been scheduled for 16 January 2016. More than 3.75 lakh candidates applied last year for Maha TET Exam 2015 and the numbers have climbed even further this year. The Notification released by the Maharashtra State Council of Examination Board, which is the conducting body for Maha TET 2015, has clearly mentioned the detailed syllabus for the upcoming recruitment examination. About Maharashtra TET

Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test, commonly known as MahaTET, is a pen and paper based government recruitment examination. Maha TET is conducted with the intent of appointing teachers in Classes I to VIII in various government schools and institutes. Maharashtra State Council of Examinations is the conducting body of Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test. They are responsible for conducting the necessary written and verbal assessment of teachers and determine if they are fit to be appointed.


Maharashtra TET Eligibility Criteria

Maha TET is a pen and paper based assessment examination for selecting teachers. There will be two papers under Maharashtra TET.

  • Paper 1 will be for the person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V.
  • Paper 2 will be for the person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.
  • A person who intends to teach Class I to VIII will have to appear for both.

Maha TET is conducted twice every academic year and the validity period of TET qualifying certificate is seven years for all categories from the date of award of Maha TET certificate.

There is no restriction on the number of attempts for acquiring a TET certificate. A person who is a qualified TET may also appear again for improving his/her own score.

Each applicant needs to fulfil the basic criteria, in order to be considered for both primary and secondary level examinations under Maha TET 2015. Only the applicants with the below mentioned valid credentials will be allowed to attempt Maharashtra TET 2015.

The candidate filling the application for Maha TET 2015 must be an Indian Citizen.

The minimum academic qualification for Maha TET 2015 is 

For Primary stage (Class I to IV)
Senior secondary with at least 50% aggregate marks along with either:

  • 2 Years Diploma in Elementary Education
  • 4 Years Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education
  • 2 Years Diploma in Special Education

For Secondary stage (Class V to VIII) 
Graduation degree with minimum 50% aggregate marks along with either:

  • 1 Year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)
  • 2 Years Diploma in Elementary Education
  • 4 Years Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)
  • 1 Year of Special Education

Note :
As per the Eligibility Criteria of Maharashtra TET 2015, the reserved category candidate needs to have 45% aggregate marks in senior secondary and higher education. Also, the candidates who are in the final year of diploma and bachelor degree (Final Year) are also eligible for this exam with the condition they can produce the documents at the selection time.


Maharashtra TET Admit Card 2015

The admit card for Maha TET will be available on the official website. The dates are yet to be announced. All candidates need to carry a printout of their admit card on the examination day. No candidate will be allowed in the examination hall without the admit card in person.

How to Download Maha TET 2015 Admit Card ?

  • Visit Maharashtra TET official website: Click here
  • From the left sidebar, select ‘MahaTET-2015 for the examination of the application‘.
  • You will be redirected to a new page.
  • Enter your Registration Number in the blank space provided and click on Submit.
  • Your Hall Ticket or Admit Card for Maha TET 2015 will be displayed on the Screen. 
  • Download the Admit Card on your computer.
  • Take an A4 sized print-out of the same.
