IAS Mains 2018 GS Paper 1 Study Plan 

The syllabus for UPSC Mains GS Paper 1 covers Indian Heritage and Culture, History and Geography of the World and Society. This is a collection of total 12 topics and around 40 sub-topics as per the exam syllabus.

  • In 2016, the number of questions from Modern History was more than that in 2015.
  • A decrease in the number of questions from Indian Society and World History can also be seen.

Some tips to remember for Culture

  • Prepare a note of terms, articles, which are in recent news from The Hindu or other sources and mug up them.
  • After going through previous year’s UPSC Mains questions you understand the nature of the paper.
