RBI Grade B Prelims Analysis 2017: The Reserve Bank of India conducted the Written Examination for RBI Grade B Officer Recruitment today. A number of candidates appeared for the paper and here is our detailed RBI Grade B Analysis and Review of the actual level of the examination.

RBI Grade B Analysis, Prelims Exam Review: 17 June 2017

The RBI Grade B Examination (Phase-I) was as Objective Computer-based Test (CBT) with 4 sections – Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness and English Language. The distribution of questions and marks section-wise was as follows.

The total time to solve the entire paper was 120 minutes. Since we have established the pattern of the paper for both exam-takers and non-takers, let us dive-in the paper review of RBI Preliminary Examination for the post of Grade ‘B’ Officers.


RBI Grade B Analysis & Exam Review 2017

The overall level of difficulty of RBI Grade B Phase-I Examination was Tough. A little competitive paper was expected owing to the highly reputed post aspirants are competing for. The section-wise RBI Grade B Analysis is as follows.

RBI Grade B Analysis 2017 for English Language Section

Most candidates rated English Section to be Tough in terms of difficulty level. The following topics were prevalent in this section.

There were two sets of Reading Comprehension in which one was based on a new pattern (that came in SBI PO mains) and another one was based on old pattern and we expect a well-prepared candidate to attempt 10-12 questions in order to achieve a good score in RBI Phase 1 Examination.

RBI Grade B Analysis 2017 for General Awareness Section

This section was Moderate with a number of questions based on Recent Current Affairs and Banking Awareness. A well-prepared candidate is expected to attempt 42-44 questions with good accuracy.

RBI Grade B Analysis 2017 for Reasoning Ability Section

Most questions were Moderate to solve in Reasoning Section of RBI Grade B Examination. Still, we consider the overall difficulty to be Tough since a bulk part of this section was confusing.

A good attempt in this section would be 32-34 questions with good accuracy.

RBI Grade B Analysis 2017 for Quantitative Aptitude Section  

There were mixed reactions from RBI candidates in the QA Section. Overall, most questions had lengthy calculations and ambiguous language. Hence, the difficulty level was Tough.

You can consider your score well if you were able to attempt 8-10 questions with good accuracy in this section.

Based on the above factors, 94-96 will be the safest attempts with minimum 90% accuracy.
