RRB NTPC Expected Cutoff 2016 (Revised): The Railway Recruitment Board has caught everyone’s eye in the recruitment world with the introduction of RRB NTPC Phase II Examination. The candidates will now be shortlisted for the next written examination based on RRB NTPC Result, which is expected to be declared this month.

The objective of this article is to point out towards the possibility that the expected cutoff marks might be lowered due to RRB Phase II Examination. Let us talk about it.


RRB NTPC Expected Cutoff 2016 (Previous)

As informed earlier in our article on RRB NTPC Exam Analysis, we have declared the following scores for various categories.

 Category of the Candidate  Cutoff Marks
 General  78-81
 OBC  76-79
 SC/ST  70-75
 Ex-Servicemen  59-62

These cutoff scores were expected to fall if there was a single examination. But, as per RRB Notice, there will be another examination.

RRB NTPC 2016: Final Exam Analysis with Normalized Cut-off

Among the 50 Lakh+ candidates who have appeared for the written examination for RRB NTPC 2016, almost 3-4 Lakhs will be shortlisted to appear for Phase II Examination. Hence, the cutoff scores will be lowered.


RRB NTPC Expected Cutoff 2016 (Revised)

In the light of new information, the revised RRB NTPC Cutoff for Phase 1 Examination will a few marks lower than the previous one.

 General  68-71
 OBC  66-69
 SC/ST  60-65
 Ex-Servicemen  49-52

This indicates a steep lowering of cutoff marks, enabling more candidates to fall in this category and getting shortlisted for RRB NTPC Phase II Examination.


RRB NTPC Phase II Exam Pattern 2016

From the information provided by the RRB Helpdesk, here is what we know about RRB NTPC Phase II Exam Pattern.

1. The Total Number of Questions will be 120

The level of this written examination is expected to be a bit challenging as it is the last level of screening before getting selected. The questions asked will be from the following sections.

  • General Awareness
  • Reasoning/ General Intelligence
  • Quantitative Aptitude

The distribution of questions among various sections has not been clearly specified by RRB yet. We will update as soon as more information is provided.

2. Total Time to solve will be 90 Minutes 

Similar to last time, the maximum time allotted for solving the entire RRB NTPC Phase II Examination is 90 minutes. This limits the time to solve each question to less than a minute. Hence, speed and accuracy will be required. Also, we except the exam pattern for Phase 2 paper to be Objective MCQ based.

  1. I m getting 46 ST category
    i feel everyone is getting lower marks than their peak values, so cut off will be much lower, this need to be revised again.
    Eg:- the cut off for UR cat is around 80-85, i see very rarely someone upto that, so it need to be revised once again…
