SBI Clerk 2016 Eligibility Criteria 

The eligibility criteria for SBI Clerk 2016 Examination is set by State Bank of India. Each and every candidate who will be applying for SBI Clerk 2016 Written Examination has to fulfil this criteria. Failure to do so will deem the candidate ineligible for SBI Clerk 2016 Exam.

SBI Clerk Eligibility Criteria 2016 for the post of Assistant/ Clerk consists a set of requirements and clauses in terms of age, educational qualification and nationality. Let us have a look at it.

Nationality: As per SBI directives, the nationality of the candidate must be an Indian.

Age Limit: According to the dictates of SBI Clerk Eligibility Criteria 2016, candidates between the age of 20 to 28 years are eligible for submitting their application form for the upcoming SBI Clerk 2016 Exam. The relaxation in the upper age limit has been applied according to government norms. They are as follows

  • SC/ ST: 5 Years
  • OBC: 3 Years
  • PWD (Gen): 10 Years
  • PWD (SC/ ST): 15 Years
  • PWD (OBC): 13 Years
  • Kashmir Domicile: 5 Years
  • Ex-Servicemen: Actual period of service rendered in defence services + 3 years (8 years for disabled Ex-Servicemen belonging to SC/ST subject to maximum age of 50 years)
  • Widows/ Divorced Women/ Legally Separated: 9 years (subject to maximum age limit of 35 years for General and 38 years for OBC & 40 years for SC/ST candidates)

Minimum Educational Qualification: The candidate must be atleast a graduate or equivalent degree holder from a state or centrally recognized university. According to SBI Eligibility Norms, the final year students may also apply subject to the condition that if they are called for personal interview, they must produce relevant proof of having passed the graduation examination before. Incomplete graduation degree or pending backlogs will result in immediate disqualification.

SBI Clerk 2016 Selection Procedure

The selection process for SBI Clerk 2016 is pretty simple. You need to crack SBI Clerk 2016 Written Examination first. The next round usually involves a face-to-face personal interview and document verification. The normalized scores are calculated and final merit list is prepared of all the candidates shortlisted.

Note: As per the Ministry of Finance directives, there will be no interview for the post of Clerk in Public Sector Banks (PSBs). But we still recommend you all to wait for the official notification.

SBI Clerk Exam Pattern 2016 

SBI Clerk 2016 is a written exam of objective pattern. The questions are multiple-choice with 4 or 5 options. There are 5 sections in SBI Clerk written exam.

  1. General Awareness
  2. English Language
  3. Quantitative Aptitude
  4. Reasoning Ability
  5. Marketing Aptitude/ Computer Knowledge

The exam will be conducted online and the medium is English/ Hindi (except for English Language Section). The total marks allotted to each section are equal.

SBI Clerk Marking Scheme 2016 

As said earlier, each section carries equal marks. Hence, here are the important points to note for SBI Clerk Marking Scheme 2016.

  • The Total Marks in the written exam are 200.
  • Each section carries 40 marks each.
  • The total time allotted for solving the entire written exam is 135 minutes (2 Hours and 15 Minutes).
  • For every right answer, 1 mark will be added to the total score.
  • For every wrong answer, 0.25 mark  will be deducted from total score.
  • No marks will be deducted for questions left unsolved.

Another important point is that, both sectional and overall cutoff will be taken into consideration for promoting candidate to the next level. Hence, prepare for each section in the best way possible.

    • The Prime Minister of India suggested the Ministry of Finance to simplify the recruitment process for Clerical Positions. But the final decision is always left on the conducting body, which in this case, happens to be SBI. Let us wait for the final directive published in the SBI Notification 2016.

  3. I am going to apply sbi clerk, and i complited graduate, but still i not collected certificates from university, and now i dont know exact percentage and grade, if i done wrong in that can i get any issue on the day of interview?
