OnlineTyari: First of all, Congratulations on qualifying the SBI PO Examination!
Pratish: Thank you very much.
OnlineTyari: So, let me ask you one of the basic questions, What is the reason behind choosing banking as a field of career?
Pratish: I belong from an Engineering background. As expected, I stepped into the world of competitive exams having GATE/ IES on my mind. Slowly, I started to realize the importance of having a ‘Government Job’. I widened up my horizon and included Banking in my watch list. They key factor which motivated me to strive for this particular sector was the number of vacancies available. It was the biggest booster which made me confident and with the added mathematical knowledge from engineering subjects, I was all set to prepare for SBI examinations.
OnlineTyari: How exactly did you prepare for SBI PO exam and how difficult was it?
Pratish: I had been pretty confident about the quantitative section as I was very strong in mathematics. I laid more emphasis on English Language and General Studies. To be honest, I was very scared when it came to both these subjects. I had been poor in general awareness. But, I was able to have the extra edge because I quickly adopted the habit of reading newspaper daily. Several reference books related to general awareness and grammar also proved to be beneficial.
OnlineTyari: How long have you been preparing for SBI Examinations?
Pratish: I had been preparing for my GATE examination earlier. Since last 3 years, I have been appearing for many competitive exams like IES, SBI. Once, I made up my mind regarding the banking sector, I became all the more passionate and was finally able to have positive results this year.
OnlineTyari: How was OnlineTyari helpful in your exam preparation?
Pratish: OnlineTyari was definitely very helpful. OnlineTyari Mobile App helped me get access to online mock tests and study material on the go. The Daily news section served as the best platform for my revision. Moreover, some of the e-books recommended by OnlineTyari such as Disha Publication were very resourceful. I would also like to mention about the All India Test Series that has played a very important role behind my confidence and success. Being among the toppers was an overwhelming experience and this feat encouraged me to prepare more and work hard for SBI PO Exams.
OnlineTyari: We are glad to receive such a positive response from your end. Now, our readers would like to know what or who kept you motivated throughout your preparation?
Pratish: My parents’ faith was the driving force that kept me going. They had been the pillar of support during my preparation. The ability to learn from my own mistakes also placed a crucial role. In my personal opinion, attitude is what that differentiates winners from those who leave in between. I kept going because I knew I had to. I had full courage and determination and I was positive throughout.
OnlineTyari: Lastly, a piece of advice for fellow banking aspirants that you would like to give?
Pratish: There might be failures in your way; you might feel that this is not your cup of tea. Think positive and be motivated as only one person can beat you and that is you yourself. Don’t lose hope, just work hard and hit the Bull’s Eye. I believe that –
