SBI PO Mains Exam Analysis, Review: 4th June 2017
The pattern of Mains Objective Exam was MCQ based. There was 4 sections: Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, English Language, Data Analysis & Interpretation and General/ Economy/ Banking Awareness.

There was penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score.

We begin our section-wise review of the paper with the reasoning section. The level of Reasoning was Moderate to Hard. The topic-wise breakdown is as follows:

New types of symbol based questions were introduced. No questions were asked from Computer Aptitude Section.
SBI PO Mains Exam Analysis of English Language Section
Moving to the next section i.e english section. This section had 35 questions.The level of English was Difficult. The topic-wise breakdown is as follows.

Pattern of English Language was quite different. Most candidates found the english section quite difficult.
- There were 2 sets of Reading Comprehension, containing 5 questions each.Reading Comprehension was not actually a passage they rather gave it in form of 5-6 statements (pointers).
- Also, there were two types of error detection, 4 questions were based on the conventional pattern and 4 questions were based on a new pattern where there were multiple errors in one sentence and candidate have to identify all the parts with errors in them.
A lot of candidates got to see some new changes in the jumbled sentences, where starting sentence was already provided and rest of the arrangement had to be found by the candidate.
SBI PO Mains Exam Analysis of Data Analysis & Interpretation Section
The Next part in our section-wise review of the paper is quant section. The Quantitative Aptitude Section in SBI PO Mains had a Moderate Difficulty Level.

SBI PO Mains Exam Analysis of General/ Economy/ Banking Awareness
The Next part in our section-wise review of the paper is General Awareness section. Most of the Questions asked in this section were based on Current Banking Affairs. Around 5-6 questions were also asked from Banking Awareness.

This section involved 2 questions, Letter and Essay Writing. Following topics of Essay and Letter writing were asked under Descriptive Test of SBI PO Mains exam 2017.

Write a letter to your branch manager that you’ve deposited some amount but it is still not credited into your account.
Write a letter to editor expressing your concern over reading his/ her book on how to reduce stress and anxiety.
Essay Writing (150 words)
- Write an essay on the positive and negative impact of technology.
- Write an essay on effect of social media and its consequences on our population.
The paper had a Moderate Difficulty Level, which can be expected, being the Mains Examination. The overall expected Cut Off is 60-70.
