SBI PO Prelims 7th May 2017 (Shift 1): The State Bank of India has now commenced Day-IV of SBI PO Preliminary Examination. As we have stated earlier, the shortlisted candidates from the first phase will be called for the next round, Mains Examination.

To give a little preface to new users, the SBI PO Prelims Exam was composed of 3 sections i.e. Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability and English Language.

The total time was 1 hour i.e. 60 minutes. Hence, Speed, Accuracy and Planning is surely needed to have good number of attempts with maximum accuracy.

SBI PO Prelims 7th May Analysis for English Language Section

- Level of Difficulty: Moderate
For SBI PO Prelims 7th May Paper (Shift 1), the English had a moderate difficulty level. The table below tells about the number of questions from each topic.

The English Section was divided in 3 sections – Reading Comprehension, Cloze Test and Spotting errors, with 10 questions each. While Phrase Replacement Questions were easy to solve, both Reading Comprehension and Cloze Test Questions were tricky and time consuming. Still, we expect candidates to do well in this section.
SBI PO Prelims 7th May Analysis for Reasoning Ability Section
- Good Attempts: 19-21 Questions
- Level of Difficulty: Moderate to Difficult
The reasoning section followed a similar trend of being a bag full of surprises for a lot of candidates. The topic-wise distribution was as follows.

The section was predominantly filled with questions based on Puzzles, with 50% easy and 50% challenging questions. The rest of the section had a moderate tone with the exception of Blood Relation and Direction Sense Questions being easier in comparison.

- Level of Difficulty: Moderate
The quant section for SBI PO Prelims 7th May (Slot 1) had a proper mix of moderate to challenging questions.
