SBI PO Prelims Exam Analysis: 8th July 2018
As we all know, the exam was composed of 3 sections i.e. Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability and English Language. The exam pattern in details is as follows.
The State Bank of India has introduced some major changes this year in SBI PO Prelims Exam Pattern. This Year SBI has Introduced has major pattern changes in it, i.e., sectional timings (20 minutes for each section) for the three different sections (English, Reasoning Ability, and Quantitative Aptitude).
Tier I: Preliminary examination
Preliminary Examination consisted of Objective Test for 100 marks. The test had 3 Sections (with separate timings for each section) as follows:

Some highlights of the changes made in the exam pattern are given below:
- Each section of the Prelims exam had a separate time slot (20 Minutes each).
- Also, there will not be any sectional or overall cut-off.
- An adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by the Bank will be shortlisted for the Mains Exam from the list of all candidates arranged in descending order of aggregate marks scored.
THE OVERALL DIFFICULTY LEVEL OF SBI PO Prelims Exam (Shift-III) was (Moderate). Let us dig a bit deeper and understand the construct of the paper section-wise.
SBI PO Prelims Exam Analysis for English Language Section
- Good Attempts: 20-25
- Level of Difficulty: Moderate
Beginning our paper review with English Section, this section was quite moderate to solve. The English Section in SBI PO Prelims Paper (Shift 3) questions distribution is as follows.

Cloze test questions were different from previous exam pattern, the blanks were already filled. Spotting error questions were the easiest to solve, followed by Cloze Test and then Reading Comprehension in terms of difficulty level escalating. Student finds the RC Section a bit lengthy. We expect most candidates to do well in this section.
