My dad is an inspector if central excise and he gets transferred every three to four years. Now a days the frequency of getting transferred is high. Every two years he is changing cities.
even iam an appointed as an senior inspector and now an senior superindent of customs and getting into the job is really tough but not as par with civil service and really engoying and it will be wonderful if u got into customs and as far transfer is concern in 2015 onwards new policy for group b gazetted is 3 years

2014 batch mein mass recruitment hua hai all india level pe- this batch may get 2-3 promotions till retirement
2015 batch mein those who joined at a very young age may get to become AC near their retirement but many might retire as a superintendent.
