SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Analysis, Expected Cutoff: The third day of SSC Combined Graduate Level Tier 1 examination received an overwhelming amount of candidates. The SSC CGL exam is being conducted online for the very first time. Similar to our previous articles, we will be giving an in-depth analysis for the SSC CGL Tier 1 exam held on 29 August 2016

Here is the Detailed SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Analysis, highlighting the level of difficulty of each section, the supposed number of good attempts and the expected cutoff for 29 August SSC CGL Tier-I.

 

SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Analysis 2016

The Online Recruitment Paper consisted of the Objective type Questions. As per the revised pattern, the Tier 1 Examination consisted of 100 Questions divided into 4 sections i.e Reasoning, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and General Awareness carrying 200 marks in total.

Section-Wise SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Analysis 2016

As mentioned in the above section, there were 4 sections in SSC Combined Graduate Level Examination (Tier-I). The overall difficulty level was Moderate, with the majority of the questions asked being a little difficult. But, there were a few easy ones too. Let us elaborate further by analysing each section of SSC CGL Tier-I 2016.

SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Analysis: Reasoning Aptitude

The reasoning section was Easy to Moderate. Maximum questions were asked from the following sections.

Few Questions were from High Level Reasoning as well as Statement Conclusion, Syllogism etc. Candidates having good reasoning knowledge and practice can attempt 20-22 questions easily.

SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Analysis: Quantitative Aptitude

The Quantitative Aptitude section was Easy to Moderate, just like Reasoning Ability. Questions were asked mostly from the following topics:

The level of difficulty for most of the questions was easy. Questions based on Geometry and Trigonometry were comparatively challenging. Candidates having good arithmetic knowledge and practice can attempt 16-18 questions easily.

SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Analysis: English Language

The English Language section was Easy to Moderate. Attempting 14-16 questions will be considered as a good attempt in SSC CGL Tier 1 Examination. Most of the questions were asked from the grammar section of the paper. Vocabulary also took major portion of the paper. the topic-wise distribution is as follows:

SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Analysis: General Awareness

The General Awareness section, similar to previous papers, was Moderate to Tough. Attempting 14-16 questions will be considered as a good attempt. A number of questions were from the Static portion of general awareness. Some questions related to national current affairs were also asked. The topic wise distribution is as follows:

    • Definitely your score is good, start preparing for tier II with the similar zeal as cumulative score will take you to the job.

  5. The answer for the question the president addresses the parliament has two options he addresses the parliament after evry general election and the first session of evry year.. Both the options were given.. I think the First indian to win special oscar award is satyajit ray it is an honorary award bhanu athiya won the first oscar awrd for costume desiging i think it is not a special award..

  14. why all are discussing about cutoff. tier 1 is just for qualifying nature. it means board will decide how much percentage should candidate get to qualify to tier 2. It means like gen 40% bc 35% sc/st 30% marks have to secure to qualify for tier 2 exam. even if the board give cutoff it will be around 80-90. becoz previous years there were only two tiers and the cutoff was around 100. but this time there are 4 tiers it means they will select more candidates for tier 2. even according to sources vacancies will raise upto 9000-13000 this will announce after tier 1. all the best friends

  15. Is there some determinance of no. Of attempting. Which will be better either 85 attempt but only 55 correct or 60 attempt and 55 correct?

    • Definitely More guesses will lead one towards a probabilistic score. So one should rely on accurate attempts. Hence 60 attempts would be much better than 85 attempts with 30 Guesses.

  16. Sir , i m getting 75.5 marks in CGL tier 1 .. My exam was on 11th Sep. Session 2. I belong to SC category..
    There were total 7 questions which were wrong , as none of the options were correct. For Eg : in DI the data was incorrect… WIll SSC consider those 7 questions…
    And my 2nd question is What are my chances being from SC category…?? Will i be able to make it…

  17. scored 137 tier 1(gen)…what are my chances……in what range should the score be in tier 2 so as to get through ssc in an interview post???
