SSC CGL Tier 1 Overall Exam Analysis: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) holds the responsibility to conduct Tier-I Examination for SSC SSC Combined Graduate Level Exam. Over the past few days, SSC CGL exam is being conducted in multiple shifts and a number of candidates submitted their queries online regarding how the paper was.

Instead of today’s analysis, we will be formulating SSC CGL Tier 1 Overall Exam Analysis from the dates 5-12 August 2017, to understand what all the paper is offering in terms of the level of difficulty and variation of questions. Apart from compiling an overall paper review, we will also formulate safer attempts in SSC CGL Phase I.


SSC CGL Tier 1 Overall Exam Analysis

The Online Recruitment Paper consisted of the Objective type Questions. The Tier 1 Examination consisted of 100 Questions divided into 4 sections i.e Reasoning, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and General Awareness carrying 200 marks in total.

All sections consisted of 25 Questions each. There was a 0.5 negative marking for every wrong attempt. The total time to solve the entire paper was 60 minutes.

SSC CGL Tier 1 Overall Exam Analysis: Quantitative Aptitude

The difficulty level of Quantitative Aptitude section was Moderate. Questions were asked mostly from the following topics :

The questions based on Arithmetic were easy to solve but the level of Geometry and Trigonometry based questions ranged from Moderate to ChallengingCandidates having a good arithmetic knowledge and practice can attempt 17-19 questions easily.

SSC CGL Tier 1 Overall Exam Analysis: General Intelligence/ Reasoning Aptitude

Candidates who appeared for the exam describe the difficulty level of General Intelligence/ Reasoning Section to be in the range of easy to moderate level Maximum questions were asked from the following sections.

Few Questions were from High-Level Reasoning as well as Statement Conclusion, Syllogism etc. Candidates having a good aptitude knowledge and practice can attempt 20-22 questions easily.

SSC CGL Tier 1 Overall Exam Analysis: English Language

The difficulty level of this section was Moderate, just like Quant Section. Attempting 15-17 questions will be considered as a good attempt in SSC CGL Tier 1 Examination. A number of Vocabulary based questions were asked. Grammar also took a major portion of the paper.  The topic wise distribution is as follows:

SSC CGL Tier 1 Overall Exam Analysis: General Awareness

General Awareness was yet again of Moderate Difficulty Level. Attempting 16-18 questions will be considered as a good attemptSpecial focus was given to static portion but some National current affairs were also there in the paper. The topic wise distribution is as follows:
