SSC Junior Engineer Selection Procedure 2016: Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the Junior Engineer recruitment exam every year. SSC has recently released the Application Form for registration to the post of Junior Engineer for group-B. The last date for submission of Online Application Form is October 31, 2016 upto 5.00 PM. . The last date for payment of Application Fees through Online mode is October 31, 2016. While, the last date for payment of Application Fees through offline mode is November 3, 2016.
SSC Junior Engineer Selection Procedure 2016
The candidates applying for SSC JE exam should ensure that they fulfil all the eligibility conditions for admission to the examination. Candidates applying for SSC JE 2016 will be selected on the basis of their performance in written examination. Surprisingly this year, SSC has dispensed off the Interview round. SSC Junior Engineer Selection will be based on the performance of candidates in both the papers of written examination.

Under SSC Junior Engineer selection procedure, the written exam will consist of two papers i.e. Paper -I and Paper-II carrying a total of 500 marks.
- Paper I will comprise of Objective type questions for 200 marks and Paper II will have Conventional type questions for 300 marks.
- Time duration for each paper will be 2 hours.
Answer sheets of Paper-II (Conventional Type) will be evaluated in respect of only those candidates who qualify in Paper-I at the standard as decided/fixed by the Commission at its discretion.
Note: There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I.
The final merit list will be made according to the performance of candidates in both the papers of the written examination of SSC JE 2016.
Resolution of Tie Cases
Under the SSC Junior Engineer Selection Procedure, candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their performance in both the papers of the written examination. If two or more candidates secure equal aggregate marks, tie resolution shall be done on the basis of the following factors:
- Total marks in Paper-II.
- Total marks in Paper-I.
- Date of birth, with older candidates placed higher.
- Alphabetical order in the first names of the candidates appeared.
