Physical Standards for SI and ASI: After qualifying SSC CPO 2017 written exams, the shortlisted candidates will be called for PET (Physical Endurance Test). The PET is mandatory for the post of SSC Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Assistant Sub-Inspector in CISF. In this article, you will get to know about the physical standards in terms of minimum height, weight and eye sight required for SI and ASI.
Note: There are no marks awarded or deducted in PET. It is only qualifying in nature.
Physical Standards for SI and ASI for Delhi Police and CAPF
The shortlisted candidates need to fulfill basic eligibility criteria in terms of height and chest. Though Physical Endurance Test is qualifying in nature yet failure in these will lead to instant disqualification from SSC CPO 2017 Selection Process.

There a few important points regarding physical standards set for SSC CPO Selection for the post of SI and ASI.
- According to SSC Directives, there will be no minimum requirement of chest measurement for Female candidates.
- Those candidates who are declared not qualified in Physical Standards, i.e height, and chest, may prefer an appeal, if they so desire, to the appellate authority present on the PET ground. The decision of the appellate authority will be final and no further appeal or representation in this regard will be entertained.
Physical Endurance Test (PET) for SI and ASI for Delhi Police and CAPF
The PET for the recruitment of Sub-Inspector and Assistant Sub-Inspector in the Delhi Police and CAPF consists of a number of tasks. These tasks include race, long jump, high jump, and shot put (in the case of male candidates).
For Male candidates only
- 100 meters race in 16 seconds
- 1.6 Km race in 6.5 minutes
- Long Jump: 3.65 metres in 3 chances
- High Jump: 1.2 metres in 3 chances
- Shot put (16 Lbs): 4.5 metres in 3 chances
For Female candidates only
- 100 metres race in 18 seconds
- 800 metres race in 4 minutes
- Long Jump: 2.7 metres (9 feet) in 3 chances
- High Jump: 0.9 metres (3 feet) in 3 chances
Medical Standard for SI and ASI for Delhi Police and CAPF
The medical test for SSC CPO Recruitment Process 2017 is to ensure your health status. The job profile of an Assistant Sub-Inspector and Sub-Inspector requires a healthy mind and body.
- The minimum distant vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 of two eyes without correction i.e without wearing eyeglasses.
- A high colour vision is ideal for the post of SI and ASI for Delhi Police and CAPF.
- The candidate must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes.
After qualifying in the written tests, physical tests and medical tests, the SSC candidates have to face a final selection in the form of an obstacle course. Candidates need to qualify in order to be recruited.
