UKPSC Lower Subordinate Prelims Exam Analysis 2016: Uttrakhand Public Service Commission conducted the Lower Subordinate Preliminary Examination on 20th November 2016. The recruitment examination was meant for the recruitment of Naib Tehsildar, Supply Inspector, Taxation Officer & Passengers Tax Officer Jobs in various departments of Uttarakhand Lower Subordinate Services. For UKPSC Prelims 2016, a huge chunk of candidates appeared for the examination at all the 20 centres across Uttrakhand.

As per the UKPSC exam pattern, the preliminary examination consisted of one paper on the subject specified below in the table. The paper was MCQ Objective type in nature and carry 150 marks. The examination is meant to serve as a screening test only. It will act as a qualifying paper for Mains Examination. The total time was 120 Minutes (2 Hours).

It was obvious from the exam notification that there would be questions on General Studies as well as General Aptitude. In the examination, there were 100 questions straight from General Studies and 50 questions from General Aptitude.
Overall difficulty level of the examination was moderate. If we go by the section then General Studies was relatively easier than General Aptitude.
UKPSC Lower Subordinate Prelims Expected Cut off 2016
According to our survey, most of the students claimed that the exam was easy but some questions of mathematics were pretty lengthy. The expected cut off might lie between 85-90 marks in order to qualify for mains.
However, the cut-off maybe lesser than the above mentioned marks as approximately 55-60% of the applicants were from technical background and they struggled with General Studies, despite being easy.
