UP Police Recruitment 2016: The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotional Board (PRPB) has issued an official notification inviting male and female candidates to apply for the posts of Sub-Inspector, Platoon Commander and Fire Officer vacancies. All the interested candidates can apply for the same according to the prescribed format.

UP Police Vacancy 2016 for Sub-Inspector, Platoon Commander and Fire Officer Post
For male candidates, Online Applications will begin from 30th June 2016 and the final date for submitting the applications is 29th July 2016. However, for female candidates application starts 5 days early, online application starts on 25th June 2016 the final date for submitting the applications is 24th July 2016.
There are a total of 3307 vacancies in Uttar Pradesh Police Department. These vacancies are divided according to different posts.

The Salary, both Fixed and Grade Pay has been set according to this denomination
- For Male Sub-Inspector, Platoon Commander PAC and Second Officer Fire Department: INR 9300-34,800 (Grade pay: 4200)
- For Female Sub-Inspector: INR 9300-34,800 (Grade pay: 4200)
UP Police Selection Process 2016
After applying for these posts for the UP Police Department, the board will conduct a recruitment process to shortlist the eligible candidates. The recruitment process will be covered in three stages,
- Written Test
- Physical Efficiency Test
- Physical Measurement Test

1. Written Examination
Knowledge of the basics of the exam pattern gives you an overview of what all can be asked in the exam and can definitely help you plan a proper strategy to prepare for the exam.

- The written test will comprise a total of 400 marks.
- The exam will be conducted online.
- This is test will be objective in nature (multiple choice questions).
- You have to select one option out of the possible four.
2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
This is the second step after you clear the written exam. So, along with preparing for the written exam you also need to put in efforts for the Physical Efficiency Test. You will be selected only if you clear all the stages that have been set. So performing well in both the written exam and PET becomes very essential. The candidates have to take part in racing to measure their efficiency. This is done in order to check the physical strength of the candidate. However, these parameters are different for male and female candidates.
- For Male Candidates: The candidates have to cover a distance of 4.8 km in 28 minutes.
- For Female Candidates: The candidates have to cover a distance of 2.4 km in 16 minutes.
3. Physical Measurement Test
This is the third and final step towards getting selected in the UP Police Department and serving the state. The candidates are required to go through this test and clear the basic requirements and the basic measurements that are needed in order to qualify for the posts in UP Police Department.
