UPSC IAS Civil Service Examination 2017 Final Result Declared: Union Public Service Commission or UPSC has declared the final result of IAS 2017-18 as of today. The final list consists of roll number of candidates selected for Indian Administrative Service (IAS).

UPSC has declared the final result on Friday, 27th April 2018.The result is visible on the official website of UPSC and can also be downloaded here in PDF.
As per the result, Anudeep Durishetty topped the UPSC IAS 2017-18 examination, followed by Anu Kumari, on the second rank. Anu Kumari is topper among all the female candidates too. As per qualification, she has graduated with B.Sc(Hons) in Physics from Delhi University and has also done MBA in Finance & Marketing from IMT, Nagpur.
On the other hand, IAS 2017-18 topper Anudeep comes from Metpally, Jagityal District, is the son of Durishetty Manohar, an additional assistant engineer, and Durishetty Jyothy who is a housewife. The family is currently a resident of Adarsh Nagar, Metpally.
Anudeep has completed his schooling from Sri Suryodaya High School and has also done intermediate in Sri Chaitanya Junior College. He has also completed his B.Tech from BITS Pilani, Rajasthan, in Electronics and Instrumentation in 2011.
Anudeep is a 2013-batch Indian Revenue Services officer, posted with the Customs and Central Excise. He has also been awarded the best officer trainee in the IRS batch during the weapons training programme at NISA Hyderabad. As per the result IAS 2017-18 final result the top 25 candidates include 17 men and 8 women. The background of these candidates belongs to Engineering; Sciences; Anthropology; Management; Law; Mathematics; Medical and Commerce. Also, these top 25 candidates have graduated from premier Institutions of country.
Interestingly, optional subjects opted by these top 25 candidates in the examination included Anthropology, Commerce & Accountancy, Economics, Geography, Law, Maths, Physics, Political Science & International Relations, Sociology, and Malayalam Literature.
Additionally, the recommended candidates list includes 29 physically challenged persons (9 Orthopedically Handicapped; 8 Visually Challenged and 12 Hearing Impaired). We also congratulate Saumya Sharma, a physically challenged person with hearing impairment, who has secured an overall 9th rank.
A total of 9,57,590 candidates applied for UPSC IAS 2017-18 examination of which 4,56,625 actually appeared. Also, 13,366 candidates actually qualified for appearance in Mains exam which was held in Oct-Nov, 2017. Of these total candidates, only 2568 candidates qualified for Personality Test which was conducted in Feb-April, 2018
As per the result, we can clearly state that the written part of the examination conducted in between October-November, 2017 and the interviews for Personality Test held between February-April, 2018, as many as 990 names were recommended for appointment to:
(i) Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service and Central Services, Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’.
The UPSC Main exam was conducted on October 28, 2017. The UPSC IAS examination was held to recruit for 980 posts of:
(i) Indian nationals in Indian Administrative Service (IAS),
(ii)Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and
(iii) Central Services (Group A and Group B) and various other government departments.
Out of these 980 posts, precisely 54 posts were reserved for reserved categories. Thereafter, the IAS PRE (CSAT) Exam was held on 18 June 2017.
