The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will conduct an open competitive examination for recruitment of Constable (Executive) Male and Female in Delhi Police. Candidates interested in applying for the post can apply through online mode. The Delhi Police Constable online registration has started from August 01 and will continue till September 07, 2020.
In order to complete the Delhi Police Constable application process candidates will have to pay the application fee. The application fee will be non - refundable. Candidates can either pay the fee through offline or online modes such as SBI Challan/ Net Banking/ Credit card/ Debit card/ UPI. The Delhi Police Constable application fee details are tabulated as follows:

Note that, candidates eligible for a fee exemption will have to upload their Caste Certificate/ Discharge Certificate/ NOC/ PWD Certificate.
Before starting the Delhi Police online application process, candidates need to be ready with the following details.
The steps to apply online for Delhi Police Constable post is as follows:
1st Step: Visit the official website - ssc.nic.in
2nd Step: Click on the link ‘Register Now’ present on the right-hand side of the page.
3rd Step: Enter your Name, Gender, Nationality, Date of Birth, Father’s Name, Mobile Number, Email ID and other essential details.
4th Step: Now enter the ‘Captcha Code’ and click on the button ‘Submit and Continue’. Verify the Mobile Number & Email ID using the OTP sent.
5th Step: A 'Registration Number' and 'Password' will be generated and the same will be sent to the registered Mobile Number and Email ID. Also, note down the details for future reference.
6th Step: Login using the credentials. Enter your 'Registration Number', 'Password' and 'Captcha Code' and click on ‘Login’ button. Change the password once you log in for the first time.
7th Step: Enter your personal, educational, contact and other essential details. Click on ‘Save & Continue’.
8th Step: In this step, upload your photo and signature as per the prescribed criteria and click on ‘continue’ button.
9th Step: Preview the details entered to edit the details if necessary by clicking on ‘Edit Application’ otherwise click on ‘Continue To Payment’
10th Step: Now check the declaration box an verify the OTP to submit the application.
11th Step: Pay the application fee and click on ‘Print’ to take the printout of the filled application form.
Note that, canddiates will have to complete the registration process within 14 days. Otherwise, the saved data will be deleted.

The Delhi Police Constable Selection Process consists of several stages. The selection stages are tabulated below:

All the candidates who want to apply online for the Delhi Police Constable Recruitment will first have to go through the Delhi Police Constable eligibility criteria to make sure they are eligible for the post. If the candidate is found not satisfying the eligibility criteria at any stage of the selection process, his/ her candidature will be cancelled.
The candidate must be between 18 to 25 years old as on 01.07. 2020. In other words, the candidate should be born before 02.07.1995 and not later than 01.07.2002.
Besides that, there will also be a relaxation in the upper age limit of the candidate for certain categories. The details are mentioned in the table below:

The candidate must have passed the 10+2 (Senior Secondary) from a recognized board.
The education qualification can be relaxable up to 11th Standard for sons/ daughters of serving, retired or deceased Delhi Police Personnel/ MultiTasking Staff of Delhi Police, and bandsmen, buglers, mounted constables, drivers, dispatch riders, etc. of Delhi Police only.

The candidates should be in a sound state of health, free from defect/ deformity/ disease, vision 6/12 without glasses both eyes, free from colour blindness and without any correction like wearing glasses or surgery of any kind to improve visual acuity. Free from defect, deformity or disease likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties. No relaxation is allowed/ permissible to any category of candidates on this count. The selected candidates shall be medically examined by doctors in selected Government hospitals in Delhi as per the prescribed standards.
The Delhi Police Constable syllabus consists of 5 sections such as General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude/ Numerical Ability, Reasoning and Computer Fundamentals. The section-wise Delhi Police Constable Indicative Syllabus is as follows:
Delhi Police Constable - General Awareness
Questions are designed to test the candidate's general awareness around him/her and its application to society. Questions are also designed to test his/her knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Indian Economy, General Polity, Indian Constitution, Scientific Research. These questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline.
Delhi Police Constable - Quantitative Aptitude
Computation of Whole Number, Decimal and Fractions, Relationship between numbers. Fundamental arithmetical operations: Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest (Simple and Compound), Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Alligation, Time and distance, Time and work. Algebra: Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra and Elementary surds (simple problems) and Graphs of Linear Equations. Geometry: Familiarity with elementary geometric figures and facts Triangle and its various kinds of centres, Congruence and similarity of triangles, Circle and its chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, common tangents to two or more circles. MS Excel (Elements of Spread Sheet, Editing of Cells, Function and Formulas). 3. Communication (Basics of E-mail, Sending/receiving of Emails and its related functions). 4. Internet, WwW and Web Browsers (Internet, Services on Internet, URL, HTTP. FTP, Web sites, Blogs, Web Browsing Software, Search Engines, Chat, Video conferencing, e-Banking) etc.
Delhi Police Constable - English Language

Delhi Police Constable: Detailed Job Profile
The post carries the designation executive for the constables
Delhi Police Constables are equivalent to the post of any executive in government department. Unlike other constables in different states, Delhi Police Constables can take decisions related to as in cases on their own. Apart from these, they also have to involved in decisions related to case of field duties and patrolling sessions.
By that as it may, the basic job responsibility of a Delhi Police Constable are as following:
On Field Office: The first and foremost responsibility of a Delhi Police Constable is to act as an officer on field. For the same reason they are also called as executive constable. The job involves being alert on the streets and taking prompt and/or quick decisions regarding any incident which has already happened. This is regarded as a very sensitive issue and constables are mainly responsible for making first hand discharge of duty in the field.
Patrolling Streets: The second major and prominent responsibility as a Delhi Police Constable is to ensure safety of the fellow citizens. This job involves looking into matters of the local region and ensuring a peaceful law and order situation. In order to maintain the same situation, constables have to undertake patrolling activities on a frequent and regularly basis in the area allotted to them. This makes the job a field job of a Delhi Police Constable as a field job, however, constables can also be a desk jobs.
Providing Investigative Assistance to ASIs: As a Delhi Police Constable, another important priority is to provide assistance to ASIs during investigation, whensoever required. Due to high rate of crime in Delhi and regional areas, constables have to be on high alert to control the situation as well as provide assistance to ASIs during investigation. Constables provide assistance by accompanying ASIs during raids or victims’ places or to the witnesses, etc
Filing of Reports: Constables working for Delhi Police have to file in reports of all incidents or events or activities. After completion of file, constables have to submit reports to seniors on a daily basis. At times, if constables don’t have enough data or evidence to report in their file, they just have to submit their reports with all the acquired data only. This usually depends on the nature of seriousness or practical approach required in any given situation.
