11th Nuclear Energy Conclave in New Delhi

On Oct 18, 2019 in New Delhi Union MoS Development of North Eastern Region, Prime Minister’s Office, Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space Jitendra Singh addresses at the inauguration of the 11th Nuclear Energy.

Key points:–

  • Conclave, Nuclear the theme of the Energy Conclave is “economics of nuclear power- innovations towards safer & cost-effective technologies”.
  • According to the plan about conclave to include three technical sessions apart from the inaugural session in which top leaders in the government are expected to participate. 
  • The government is established the nuclear plants in other parts of the country and also a nuclear plant is coming up in Gorakhpur in Haryana.
  • The atomic power plants were earlier restricted to southern India.
  • Department of Atomic Energy released, that the country has made a lot of progress in atomic energy and space in the last five years.
  • A 'Hall of Nuclear Energy' was opened in Pragati Maidan in Delhi to educate the students and general public about the applications of nuclear energy.
  • For the Department of Space a similar hall is being planned.
  • The Union Minister spoke about the use of nuclear energy in the field of medicine, especially cancer care.  
  • According to Minister DAE is working for the implementation of flagship programmes of the Government with Tata Memorial Centre that is being the first to shift to cashless transactions.
  • In the conclave there are three technical sessions being held on the themes:

(1) Growth of Nuclear Power for Meeting Base Load Demands- Opportunities & Challenges for Manufacturing Industry

(2)   Use of Nuclear Energy in Healthcare and Municipal Waste Treatment.

(3)   Emerging Technologies for Economy and Enhanced Safety viz, Small & Medium Size reactors, Passive Safety features, Molten Salt Reactors.
