The All India Institute of Medical Sciences(AIIMS) located in Rishikesh in collaboration with the Navratna Company in the Defense sector, Bharat Electronics Limited(BHEL) has developed India’s first remote Health Monitoring System.

Key Points:

  • With the use of the remote monitoring system the body temperature and temperature can be monitored from a distance thus making it less necessary for the doctor to go near the patient and prevent the contraction of diseases by the doctors.
  • A web-portal and a mobile application have also been developed as part of the system to help patients sitting at home to inform doctors.
  • The system will be used widely in Uttarakhand to treat the COVID19 patients and will display vital parameters on the command center.
  • The mobile application that has been launched will help in locating the regions in the state where the spread of COVID19 is prevalent.
  • The system will also issue alerts in case a patient needs to be admitted to the hospital.
  • Presently such systems are being used to monitor patients undergoing haemodialysis in other parts of the world.
