Context:

Every year on 15 January, Army Day is celebrated in honour of Field Marshal Kodandera M.

• The day is celebrated in parades and other military demonstrations in the capital city of New Delhi.
• India celebrated its 74th Indian Army Day in New Delhi on 15 January 2022.

Celebrations of the Day:

• A large Army Day parade is held at the Cariappa Parade in Delhi.
• The Gallantry Awards and Sena awards are also presented on the day.
• Military computer hardware, multi-frames, and combat displays are part of the exhibition.
• In 2020, Captain Tania Shergill became the first female officer to command an Army Day exhibition.
