Army Forces Flag Day

Armed Forces Flag Day is celebrated on 7th December every year in India, with an objective to collect funds from people for the betterment of the Armed Forces staff by selling Indian flags, batches, stickers and other items.

Key Points:

  • This day honours our soldiers, sailors and airmen of India. The three branches of the Armed Forces - the Indian Air Force, the Indian Army and the Indian Navy organise a variety of programmes to showcase their efforts towards the national security.
  • The fund that is collected on this day will also be used for the welfare of serving personnel and ex-servicemen and to rehabilitate the battle casualties.
  • This day is mainly observed to serve three basic purposes:

1. Resettlement and welfare of ex-servicemen and their families.

2. The welfare of serving personnel and their families.

3. Rehabilitation of battle casualties.
