Biotech Startup Expo – 2022

Context: PM Modi will inaugurate Biotech Startup Expo on 9th June 2020. 

Key Points: 

• The Biotech Startup Expo – 2022 is held to mark the completion of ten years of setting up of BIRAC. The event will be organised by the Department of Biotechnology and Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) held on the 9th and 10th of June 2022. 
• Biotech Startup Innovations: Towards Aatma Nirbhar Bharat' is the event's theme. 
• The Expo will act as a platform to connect investors, entrepreneurs, industry leaders, scientists, researchers, bio-incubators, manufacturers, regulators and government officials. 
• About 300 stalls will showcase biotechnology applications in various fields such as genomics, healthcare, biopharma, agriculture, industrial biotechnology, waste-to-value, and clean energy, among others.
