Central Government has launched CoNTeC to connect Doctors in India with AIIMS

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on 28 March 2020, has launched COVID-19 Telecommunication Centre(CoNTeC). The platform aims to connect the doctors in the country with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences(AIIMS ).

Key Points:

  • The platform will be active 24/7 and will be available for answering queries and getting real-time treatment.
  • CoNTeC platform is a telecommunication hub where experts from various clinical fields will answer questions of specialists throughout the country.
  • The programme will be extended all over the world in the near future.
  • CoNTeC will be completely integrated into the National Medical College Network and the patient management guidelines and advice have been framed by AIIMS.
  • Six lines are operational simultaneously under the programme. The number of lines will be increased in the future.
  • The initiative is operated by AIIMS and monitored by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
