Centre to set up National Police University

Centre has announced its plan to set-up state-of-the-art National Police University (NPU) at Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The proposal was initiated by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The proposed multi-disciplinary university will be established at a prime location in the Greater Noida.

For the establishment of NPU, the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has offered land on a 90-year lease at a concessional rate at the cost of Rs.371 crore.

The Univerity will offer formal education programmes to the students leading to the award of the bachelor's, masters', doctoral degrees as well as PG Diploma.

At a later stage, the University also is expected to introduce distance learning programmes in for special papers in specified areas.
