Control Rooms set up to address wage related grievances

The Ministry of Labour and Employment has established twenty control rooms which function under the Office of Chief Labour Commissioner(CLC) © covering the whole nation to address issues and challenges that are arising due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Key Points:

  • The control rooms have been established to address wage related grievances of workers employed in the Central Sphere and to solve problems of migrant workers by coordinating with different state governments.
  • These control room call centers are accessible to the workers via Phone numbers, Whatsapp and Emails.
  • The control rooms are managed by Labour Enforcement Officers, Assistant Labour commissioners, Regional Labour Commissioners, and Deputy Chief Labour Commissioners of the respective regions.
  • The operation of all twenty control rooms is monitored and supervised by the Chief Labour Commissioner (C) of Headquarter on a daily basis.
  • All the respective officers and officials have been advised to use compassionate methods to help and sort out the grievance of the aggrieved workmen to the maximum extent possible and ensure timely delivery of relief to the needy ones.
  • The centers have been set up in Guwahati, Ahmedabad, Asansol, Ajmer, Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Chandigarh, Cochin, Delhi, Dehradun, Dhanbad, Hyderabad, Kanpur, Kolkata, Jabalpur, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, and Raipur.
