COVIDgyaan website launched by TIFR

A science-based web-portal ‘COVIDgyan’ has been launched by the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), the Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc).

Key Points:

  • The objective of the website is to bring the facts and scientific information about COVID-19 pandemic into the public domain in a multi-lingual, multi-institutional and scientific format.
  • The information is generated by various institutes throughout India and will serve as an authentic source of information onCOVID19.
  • The goal of the platform is to create public awareness and understanding of COVID19 disease and provide ways which can be used as measures to mitigate the disease.
  • The website answers FAQs and Mythbusters, provides links to scientific papers and information in audio formats, posters and infographics.
  • Vigyan Prasar, IndiaBioscience, and the Bangalore Life Science Cluster (BLiSc) are also partners in the initiative.
  •  The Bangalore Life Science Cluster (BLiSc) includes National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS), Centre for Cellular And Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP) and Institute for Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine (InStem).
