NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF SOFTWARE AND SERVICE COMPANIES (NASSCOM) LAUNCHED THE ‘AI GAME CHANGERS’ PROGRAM

The National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM) has launched the ‘AI Game Changers’ program in India in partnership with Microsoft. The aim of the initiative is to promote Artificial Intelligence (AI) and innovations associated with it throughout India. The programme has been launched under the mission “AI for India”.

WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH 2021 OBSERVED

The theme of Women's History Month 2021, is ‘Valiant Women of the Vote: Refusing to Be Silenced’. 

The day is observed in countries like the United States of America, the United Kingdom and Australia to highlight the contribution of women in history and society.

VICE ADMIRAL ATUL KUMAR JAIN APPOINTED AS THE CHIEF OF INTEGRATED DEFENCE STAFF TO CHAIRMAN CHIEFS OF STAFF COMMITTEE (CISC)

Vice Admiral Atul Kumar Jain has been appointed as the Chief of Integrated Defence Staff to Chairman Chiefs of Staff Committee (CISC) on March 2, 2021.

EXERCISE DESERT FLAG’ HOSTED

The ‘Exercise Desert Flag’ is hosted by the United Arab Emirates, and will see the participation of the Indian Air Force (IAF) for the first time.

CENTRAL GOVERNMENT APPROVED THE NAG RIVER POLLUTION ABATEMENT PROJECT

The central government has approved the Nag River Pollution Abatement Project at a total outlay of Rs 2,117 crore. 

The Nag River is located in the state of Maharashtra and flows through the city of Nagpur, from which the city derives its name.

ST. GEORGE’S ORTHODOX CHURCH: A CENTRALLY-PROTECTED MONUMENT OF NATIONAL IMPORTANCE

The St. George’s Orthodox Church that is being recognized by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) as a Centrally-protected monument of national importance is located at Cheppad in Kerala. The church was rebuilt in 1952 and is thought to date back to AD 950.

JAIDEEP BHATNAGAR APPOINTED AS PRINCIPAL DIRECTOR GENERAL OF THE PRESS INFORMATION BUREAU (PIB)

Jaideep Bhatnagar has been appointed as the new Principal Director General of the Press Information Bureau (PIB) and will take over the responsibility from Kuldeep Singh Dhatwalia, who superannuated on February 28, 2021.

PIB functions under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
