‘Mo Prativa’ Programme launched by Odisha and UNICEF

The State Government of Odisha in association with United Nations Children’s Fund(UNICEF) has launched an online competition ‘Mo Prativa’ which translates to ‘My Talent’ to engage the children and youth staying at home during the lockdown due to Coronavirus pandemic in productive activities. Children in the age group of 5 to 18 years can participate in slogan writing, art, short story writing (under 500 words), poster making, and poem writing.

World Games 2021 postponed to 2022

The World Games which were scheduled to take place in Birmingham, Alabama, the USA in 2021 have been postponed by one year to avoid clashing with the Tokyo Olympics to 7 July to 17 July 2022.

International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action 2020

International Mine Awareness Day and Assistance in Mine Action 2020 is observed on 4 April every year and is being observed in 2020 with the theme “Together For Mine Action”.

Aarogya Sanjeevani Insurance Policy guidelines launched by IRDAI

The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India(IRDAI) has put out guidelines that need to be followed by the Health Insurance providers to Implement Aarogya Sanjeevani Insurance Policy smoothly. IRDAI has allowed policy providers to issue the policy contract of the Aarogya Sanjeevani Policy online through an electronic or digital format.

Department of Science and Technology to manufacture automated Ventilators

Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology(SCTIMST), an institute of National Importance under the Department of Science and Technology has tied up with Wipro 3D to design and build a prototype of automated emergency ventilators jointly. The ventilator system will be based on an Artificial Manual Breathing Unit (AMBU), developed by the institute.

Lifeline Udan

The Ministry of Civil Aviation has launched the ‘Lifeline Udan’ to help the public in the war against Coronavirus pandemic. Under the initiative, flights are being operated for the transfer of essential medicines and medical supplies. Under the ‘Lifeline UDAN’ initiative, 97 flights have been operated by Alliance Air, Pawan Hans, IAF, Air India, and private carriers.
