Dharma Chakra Day celebration to begin on 4 July 2020

The Ministry of Culture, Government of India, has partnered with the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC) to celebrate Asadha Poornima on 4 July 2020 as Dharma Chakra Day. The day marks the first sermon of Buddha to his first five ascetic disciples at the Deer Park in Rsipatana located in the present-day Sarnath near Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.

Andhra Pradesh launches APCOS website

The official website of Andhra Pradesh Corporation for Outsourced Services (APCOS) was launched by the state government of Andhra Pradesh in Amaravati on 30 June 2020. Under the scheme, the state will offer a reservation of 50 percent to Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), Backward Communities (BCs) and Minorities in the outsourcing jobs. The government has reserved 50 percent of outsourcing jobs for women at the district level.

Urban Forest inaugurated by the Environment Minister in Delhi

An Urban Forest was inaugurated at the Office Park of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) on 2 July 2020 at the 10 Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg in New Delhi by Prakash Javadekar, the Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. The initiative of Urban Forests has been launched to decrease the high levels of air pollution.

TOPS Scheme to be launched by the Government to for junior athletes

The Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs will launch the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) Junior with the aim of grooming young athletes for the 2024 and 2028 Olympics. The announcement was made during the “Fit Hai To Hit Hai Fit India” webinar. The TOPS scheme currently in place is for the senior athletes, who have been selected for the Olympics and the scheme also has top athletes of India in its roster.

5 -member committee appointed by Sri Lankan President for examining the development of Colombo Port

The President of Sri Lanka, Gotabaya Rajapaksa has appointed a five-member Committee that will assess and evaluate the report concerning the development of Jaya container terminal (JCT) and East Container Terminal (ECT) of the Colombo Port. The committee will be headed by the secretary of Ports.

The bank of Jammu and Kashmir has launched products to assist business communities financially

The Bank of Jammu and Kashmir has launched two products named ‘J&K Bank Business Support Loan Scheme 2019-20 for Hotels and Guest Houses’ and ‘J&K Bank Business Support Loan Scheme 2019-20’ to provide necessary financial assistance to the various business communities.
