UNITED NATIONS GENERAL ASSEMBLY ADOPTED INDIA'S RESOLUTION FOR DECLARING 2023 AS THE INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF MILLETS.

The United Nations General Assembly has adopted India's resolution for declaring 2023 as the International Year of Millets. The resolution has been adopted to further food security, nutrition, and farmers' welfare.

WORLD HEARING DAY OBSERVED

The World Hearing Day is observed on 3rd March annually and the theme of World Hearing Day 2021 was ‘Hearing care for ALL, Rehabilitate, Communicate’.

GOVERNMENT OF KARNATAKA HAS RELEASED THE ‘ENGINEERING RESEARCH POLICY’

The state government of Karnataka has released the ‘Engineering Research Policy’, which aims to further develop Research and Development in future skills of Engineering. The policy promotes the adaptation of the courses in State Colleges. The policy will create approximately 50,000 new jobs and help in the contribution of up to 45% of Engineering R&D.

FREEDOM IN THE WORLD 2021 REPORT RELEASED

The report ‘Freedom in the World 2021 – Democracy under Siege’ has been published by the non-profit and Non-Governmental Organisation based in the United States of America and funded by the USA.

The new report highlights India’s status as “partly free” with a score of 67/100. 

WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM HAS LAUNCHED THE ‘PARTNERING FOR RACIAL JUSTICE IN BUSINESS INITIATIVE’

The World Economic Forum has launched the ‘Partnering for Racial Justice in Business initiative’ to create an equitable and just workplace for professionals that are under-represented racially and ethnically. The initiative is a part of the ‘Shaping the Future of the New Economy and Society Platform’ of the World Economic Forum and will facilitate the promotion of diversity, inclusion, justice and equity in the Business Sphere.

The Indian multinational corporation, Wipro Limited has recently joined the initiative.

CHHATRAPATI SHIVAJI MAHARAJ TERMINUS RAILWAY STATION GOT AN INDIAN GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL (IGBC) GOLD CERTIFICATION

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Railway Station of Mumbai, under the Central Railway, has become the first in the country to get an Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) Gold Certification.
