SUCCESSFUL FLIGHT TESTS OF INDIGENOUSLY-DEVELOPED SMART ANTI-AIRFIELD WEAPONS CARRIED OUT BY DRDO AND INDIAN AIR FORCE

Indian Air Force (IAF) and the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) jointly carried out two successful flight tests of indigenously-developed Smart Anti-Airfield Weapon (SAAW).

CRS AUTHORIZATION RECEIVED FOR INTRODUCTION OF AC ELECTRIC TRACTION FOR GUWAHATI RAILWAY STATION

CRS authorization has been approved for the introduction of AC electric traction to & from Guwahati railway station. The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has completed the 649 RKM / 1294 TKM Power Plant project from Katihar to Guwahati. In this way, the Total High-Density Network (HDN) (649 RKM) routes crossing into the NFR are provided with Electric Traction.

PM MODI CALLED FOR ‘ONE SUN, ONE WORLD, ONE GRID’

On November 2, 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called for 'One Sun, One Earth, One Grid' to improve solar energy efficiency. The 'One Day, One World, One Grid' (OSOWOG) solution will be used to address the solar energy challenge. The project is about setting up an ‘international power grid to provide solar power around the world’.

RBI’S REVISED PROMPT CORRECTIVE ACTION (PCA) FRAMEWORK

The RBI has released a revised Prompt Corrective Action (PCA) framework for banks to enable regulatory interventions at “appropriate time” and act as a market-leading regulatory tool. The revised PCA framework will come into effect from January 1, 2022.

The PCA Framework does not prevent the Reserve Bank of India from taking any further action as it deems appropriate at any time, in addition to the remedial measures set out in the Framework.

DELHI GOVERNMENT HAS REOPENED JAI BHIM MUKHYAMANTRI PRATIBHA VIKAS YOJANA

The Delhi government has reopened applications under Jai Bhim Mukhyamantri Pratibha Vikas Yojana. It provides free competitive exams to students from families earning less than eight lakh annually. The program was launched by the Delhi Government in 2018.

GOI APPROVED THE INTRODUCTION OF THE PLI SCHEME FOR 13 KEY SECTORS

The Government of India has approved(introducing the Production-Linked Incentive Scheme (PLI) in 13 key sectors for a total of Rs. 1,97,291crore. Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade (DPIIT) coordinates the execution of all PLI Schemes.

SEVEN ADDITIONAL ENTRY/EXIT POINTS FOR TRADE BETWEEN INDIA-BHUTAN

India and Bhutan, both the countries held discussions on the current trade and transit issues to increase trade connectivity between them. These are the seven additional entry/exit points for trade between India and Bhutan formalized through Letters of Exchange (LOE): 1. Nagarkata Land Customs Station 2. Agartala Land Customs Station. 3. Pandu port (Guwahati Steamerghat) 4. Jogighopa port as an entry/exit point 5. Asian Highway 48 connecting Torsha Tea Garden in India and Ahllay in Bhutan as an additional route. 6. Kamardwisa 7. Birpara

TWENTY FOUR VILLAGES OF ODISHA RECEIVED COMMUNITY RIGHTS (CR) AND COMMUNITY FOREST RESOURCE RIGHTS (CRFF) TITLES

On November 2, 2021, Twenty four villages in Odisha’s Nayagarh district received 14 community rights (CR) and community forest resource rights (CFRR) titles. They were granted the titles under the Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act, 2006 (known as FRA), 2006 and the 2012 amendment.
