WHO’s resolution on ‘Global Solidarity to fight the Coronavirus Disease 2019(COVID19)’

The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) has unanimously adopted a resolution which is co-sponsored by 188 nations including India, on COVID-19, which calls for intensified international cooperation to defeat pandemic that is causing "severe disruption to societies and economies."

Army Medical Corps (AMC) celebrated its 256th Raising Day

The Army Medical Corps (AMC) on 3rd April 2020 celebrated its 256th Raising Day. It was raised based on the Royal Medical Corps.This day was held with the motto 'Survey Santu Nirmaya', meaning 'Let all humans be free from disease and disability'.

World Health Day

World Health Day is a global health awareness day which is celebrated every year on 7 April. It is done under the auspices of the World Health Organization, as well as other related organizations.

The female tiger is believed to be the first known case of an animal infected with COVID-19 in the US

On April 6, 2020, the Central Zoo Authority of the US asked all the zoos to stay on high alert after a tiger tested positive for COVID-19 at the Bronx Zoo in New York. It is a four-year-old Malayan female tiger, named Nadia, which is suspected that she contracted the virus from a caretaker who was asymptomatic at that time. This is the first time COVID-19 infections are reported on an animal.

Uber has partnered with the NHA to provide transport service

On April 3rd 2020 Uber declared itself partnered with the National Health Authority (NHA) to provide transport service to frontline healthcare workers in the country, who are engaged in the treatment of COVID-19 patients. Uber will initially facilitate the provision of 150 cars free of cost to support the medical facilities in New Delhi, Ghaziabad, Noida, Kanpur, Lucknow, Prayagraj and Patna through its recently launched UberMedic service.

Naval dockyard manufactures innovative portable multi-feed oxygen manifold

To cater to the requirement of oxygen supply for multiple patients during the COVID-19 pandemic, personnel from Naval Dockyard in Andhra Pradesh's Visakhapatnam have designed an innovative 'Portable Multi-feed Oxygen Manifold (MOM)' by using a six-way radial header fitted to a single cylinder. This innovation would enable 1 oxygen bottle to supply 6 patients concurrently.
