US to designate Iran's Revolutionary Guard a terrorist group

The US Presidential Administration is expected to designate Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a foreign terrorist organization.

Under the cover of the Syrian war, the IRGC is now trying to plant military roots in Syria and establish a new strategic base to threaten Syria's neighbours such as Israel, alleged by US administration.

Nagaland observed the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Kohima

The 75th anniversary of the Battle of Kohima was observed by the Nagaland government on 04 April April with representatives from the UK and Japan speaking on the theme of 'Remembrance, Reconciliation and Rebirth'.

Lakshmi Vilas Bank to merge with Indiabulls Housing Finance

Private sector lender Lakshmi Vilas Bank (LVB) Ltd on 05 April said that its board has approved a merger with mortgage financier Indiabulls Housing Finance (IHF) Ltd in an all stock deal.

The merged entity, to be called Indiabulls Lakshmi Vilas Bank, will be among the top eight private banks in India by size and profitability.

The share swap ratio of 0.14:1, or 14 shares of IBH for every 100 shares of LVB, has been agreed upon by the respective boards of directors

However, the merger of the two entities is yet to be approved by Reserve Bank of India.

Madras HC directs Centre to ban TikTok for inappropriate videos on app

The Madurai bench of the Madras High Court has passed an order directing the Centre to prohibit the downloading of the mobile application TikTok, Bar and Bench reported.

TIk Tok is a popular mobile application that allows users to create short lip-synced videos.

A bench of Justices N Kirubakaran and SS Sundar also prohibited the media from telecasting videos made using the app and asked the central government whether it will enact a statute, like the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act enacted by the United States, to prevent children becoming cyber or online victims
