PRODUCTION LINKED INCENTIVE SCHEME FOR MANUFACTURERS OF SOLAR PV MODULES

The Ministry of New & Renewable Energy's proposal for implementation of the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme 'National Programme on High-Efficiency Solar PV (Photo Voltic) Modules' has been passed by the cabinet. PLI will be dispensed for 5 years post dispatching of solar PV manufacturing plants, on sales of high proficiency solar PV modules.

COPYRIGHT (AMENDMENT) RULES, 2021

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry recently notified Copyright (Amendment) Rules, 2021. At present, the Copyright regime of India is governed by Copyright Act, 1957 and the Copyright rules 2013. The Copyright societies should make an Annual Transparency Report for each financial year.

FILM CERTIFICATE APPELLATE TRIBUNAL (FCAT) HAS BEEN ABOLISHED

The GOI by an ordinance abolished the Film Certificate Appellate Tribunal (FCAT). FCAT was a statutory body constituted by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting in 1983 to hear appeals filed by applicants for certification to their films.

NEW BIRD SPECIES IN INDIA: THREE-BANDED ROSEFINCH

A team of scientists from the Bombay Natural History Society recorded a new species of bird called the three-banded Rosefinch. It was identified while exploring the high-altitude coniferous forests of Arunachal Pradesh.

WHAT IS ANAMAYA?

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has recently launched a Tribal Health Collaborative called “Anamaya”. It is a multi-stakeholder initiative launched by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in association with the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. It will start its operations with 50 tribal, Aspirational Districts (with more than 20% Scheduled Tribe population) across 6 high tribal population states.

INDIA’S DEBT TO GDP INCREASED TO 90%: IMF

The International Monetary Fund as of late reported that the debt to GDP ratio of India expanded from 74% to 90% because of the COVID-19 crisis. This will increase to 99% in 2021. IMF has additionally expressed that this is to decrease to 80% after financial recuperation.

QUASARS

Recently, a group of astronomers have discovered a dozen quasars that were distorted by naturally occurring cosmic lenses. With this discovery, the quantity of realized quasars have expanded by 25%. This can assist to determine the expansion rate of the universe and will also help address other mysteries.

Quasars are luminous cores of distant galaxies that are powered by black holes. Their mass is millions to billions of times the mass of the sun.

Recently, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released the Monetary Policy Report for April 2021.

  • Bank Rate- 4.25%.
  • Repo Rate - 4%.
  • Reverse Repo Rate - 3.35%.
  • Marginal Standing Facility (MSF) - 4.25%.
