Ministry of Culture releases five re-printed volumes of Mongolian Kanjur Manuscripts

The project of reprinting a set of 108 volumes of Mongolian Kanjur has been undertaken by the Ministry of Culture under the National Mission for Manuscripts (NMM). The Ministry also presented a set of five volumes to the President of India on the occasion of Guru Purnima on 4 July 2020. The complete collection of 108 volumes of Mongolian Kanjur Manuscript will be published by March 2022. The manuscript is a widely respected work in Mongolia. The Mongolian Kanjur Manuscript is a canonical text of the Buddhist religion and comprises 108 volumes.

Agreement signed between EESL and NOIDA authority for the installation of EV charging units

The New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (NOIDA) has signed a pact with the Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a joint venture of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) under the Power Ministry, Government of India for the installation of public Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations and the promotion of Electric Vehicles. Under the agreement, the companies will also enable the development of an infrastructural ecosystem for the accelerated use of e-mobility as the lockdown will be uplifted slowly. EESL will also deploy the public charging stations in the city of NOIDA.

Nationwide sero-surveillance planned by ICMR for the evaluation of coronavirus trend

A nationwide sero-surveillance is being planned to be conducted by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) in the future for the evaluation of the trend of COVID-19 infection among the masses. The study will be based on a similar line of sero-survey that had been conducted earlier at a smaller scale. The final results of the sero-survey that took place in may 2020 and laid emphasis on the infections under the mid-April are still being processed.

Amazonia-1 satellite of Brazil will be launched by ISRO in August 2020

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will launch the Amazonia -1 satellite of Brazil in August 2020 onboard the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV). The design, assembly and testing of the Brazilian satellite have been done locally. The Amazonia-1 satellite of Brazil is the first Earth satellite. The satellite will be the primary payload of PSLV and will not be an add-on satellite.

750 MW Rewa Solar Project to be inaugurated on 10 July 2020

The Prime Minister of India will launch the 750 MW Solar Project at Rewa in Madhya Pradesh on 10 July 2020. The project consists of three units of 250 MW each for the generation of solar energy. The project is situated on a plot of 500 hectares inside a Solar Park with a combined area of 1500 hectare.

A narrow gauge locomotive manufactured by Central Railway workshop

A narrow-gauge locomotive has been manufactured by the Central Railway's workshop at Parel in Mumbai and will be used for pulling goods trains and passenger trains in the Firozpur division on the Kangra Valley rail section of the Northern Railway. The locomotive is of the 'ZDM3' type and is the third locomotive of the 12 locomotives for which orders have been received by the Central Railways.

Draft of “Aids to Navigation Bill 2020” issued by Shipping Ministry for public discussion

The draft of ‘Aids to Navigation Bill, 2020’ has been released by the Ministry of Shipping for receiving recommendations from the masses and stakeholders. The objective of the bill is the regulation of state-of-the-art technologies in marine navigation that used to get twisted in the statutory provisions of Lighthouse Act, 1927.

The series of the range has been launched in partnership with HeiQ from Switzerland and Reliance Industries India.

Pact on Collaboration in Energy Sector Sustainability And Resilience renewed by IEA and ADB

A Memorandum of Understanding between the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the International Energy Agency (IEA) has been renewed by the parties to enhance collaboration and boost progress on sustainability with an increased emphasis on the resilience of the energy sector in Asia and Pacific. Under the agreement signed for a term of three years, best practices and knowledge will be shared between the two organisations in energy sector data and analysis, capacity building, on-the-ground engagement, and innovation and technology among other areas of cooperation.
