SINGAPORE FIRST COUNTRY TO SANCTION RCEP

Singapore becomes the first country to sanction the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement. 

RCEP is the world’s largest free trade agreement, driven by China. In doing so, Singapore turned into the first among 15 participating countries to sanction RCEP.

3,000-YEAR-OLD ‘LOST GOLDEN CITY’ OF ANCIENT EGYPT DISCOVERED

Egypt declared the revelation of what is being promoted as the most important find since the uncovering of King Tutankhamun’s tomb almost 100 years ago.

A three-centuries old “lost golden city” from the era of eighteenth-dynasty king Amenhotep III, who ruled ancient Egypt from 1391 to 1353 B.C., was found in the southern area of Luxor, near some of the country’s best-known monuments.

SANSKRIT LEARNING APP ‘LITTLE GURU’ LAUNCHED IN BANGLADESH

A Sanskrit learning app ‘Little Guru’ has been launched in Bangladesh by the Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC) of the High Commission of India. 

AICTE LILAVATI AWARDS 2020 PRESENTED

Recently, Union Minister of Education Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' presented the AICTE Lilavati Awards 2020 on women empowerment to the winners. The objective of the award is to create awareness about issues like sanitation, hygiene, health, nutrition, credit, marketing, literacy, employment, technology, innovation, skill development, natural resources and rights among women.

WORLD PARKINSON’S DAY OBSERVED

Every year, April 11 is observed as World Parkinson’s Day to bring issues to light of Parkinson's illness, which is a progressive nervous system disorder. 

SHAPARI: CERTIFICATION SCHEME FOR AQUACULTURE PRODUCTS

Recently, the Marine Products Exports Development Authority (MPEDA) has developed a certification scheme for aquaculture products called ‘Shaphari’. It is a market-based tool for hatcheries to adopt good aquaculture practices and help produce quality antibiotic-free shrimp products to assure global consumers.

TWO-DAY SCIENTIFIC CONVENTION ON WORLD HOMEOPATHY DAY INAUGURATED

A two-day scientific convention was inaugurated in New Delhi on April 10, 2018, on the occasion of the World Homeopathy Day. The Convention was organized by the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH), an autonomous apex research organization under the Ministry of AYUSH to celebrate the occasion of World Homoeopathy Day. The theme of the convention is "Innovate: Evolve; Progress: Exploring Science since 40 years".

UAE NAMED FIRST WOMEN ASTRONAUT

The UAE named the following two astronauts for its space programme, including the country’s first woman astronaut, Noura al-Matroushi. She has been distinguished as the UAE’s first woman astronaut, with her male counterpart as Mohammed al-Mulla for future space exploration missions.
