India Ratings and Research has lowered India’s GDP forecast for financial year 2019-20 to 6.1%

On 10th October India Ratings and Research (Ind-Ra) reduced India's gross domestic product (GDP) forecast for 2019-20 to 6.1 per cent this has occurred for the second time in two months. The Ind-Ra's agency revised its GDP growth estimate to 6.7 per cent from its earlier forecast of 7.3 percent recently i.e., August month. 

Government e-Marketplace signed MoU with Union Bank of India

In New Delhi the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Union Bank of India (UBI) on 10th October 2019.

NASA launches ICON satellite to explore the region where air meets space

To explore the mysterious, dynamic region where air meets space NASA launched a satellite on 10th October 2019.  The satellite was dropped from a plane flying over the Atlantic off the Florida coast. The ICON satellite, short for Ionospheric Connection Explorer rocketed into orbit following a two-year delay.  After five seconds the satellite's release, the attached Pegasus rocket ignited, sending Icon on its way.

Government has launched India's first Garbage Café

Ambikapur, a city in the state of Chhattisgarh launched India's first garbage cafe that brings out the 'best out of waste'. Ambikapur bags the title of the second cleanest city in India, that initiative, will give impetus to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'plastic-free' India. The 'Garbage Cafe' unveiled by the Chhattisgarh Health Minister T S Singh Deo. 

West Bengal government to set up a Kanyashree University in Nadia to empower girls

The West Bengal government to set up a Kanyashree University in Nadia district and Kanyashree colleges across the state to ’empower girls’. In the month of January Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had laid the emplacement stone of the new university at Krishnagar in Nadia district.

Milkha Singh wins lifetime achievement

Milkha Singh was honoured with the lifetime achievement award at the second edition of the Indian Sports Honour. Milkha Singh most remembered for finishing fourth in the 400m final in the 1960 Rome Olympic Games, was bestowed with the lifetime achievement award.

India joins WEF’s G20

The G20 Global Smart Cities Alliance on Technology Governance will make the global norms and policy standards for the use of connected devices in public spaces.

World Economic Forum (WEF) India has joined the league of 15 of the world's leading city networks and technology governance organisations and that will work towards advancing the responsible and ethical use smart city technologies.
