Haryana includes more crops in Bhavantar Bharpayee Yojna Scheme

Recently, the Haryana government has decided to bring more crops under the 'Bhavantar Bharpayee Yojna (BBY)' scheme and this decision was taken at a BBY review meeting. 

Bhavantar Bharpayee Yojna Scheme was started in Haryana from 1 January 2018. Under this unique scheme if someone gets lower price than the protected price, it will be compensated by the state government.

Disqualification of MLAs case: SC's verdict

On 13th November 2019, the Supreme Court (SC) upheld the order disqualifying 17 Karnataka MLAs in July by former Karnataka Assembly Speaker KR Ramesh Kumar.

A bench of three judges reserved their verdict on the petitions filed by these disqualified MLAs on October 25. In the upcoming by-elections, the order allows all ineligible legislators to contest elections.

SC Verdict: CJI Office under RTI act

The Supreme Court ruled that the office of the Chief Justice of India is a public authority under the Right to Information Act on 13th November 2019. The decision has been taken by the Supreme Court under Article 124 of the Constitution.

6th World Congress on Rural and Agricultural Finance

The 6th World Congress on Rural and Agricultural Finance was recently held in New Delhi on 12th November 2019. It is being jointly hosted by Asia-Pacific Rural and Agricultural Credit Association (APRACA), National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) and Ministry of Agriculture Farmers Welfare and Cooperation, Government of India.

Mihir Shah Committee to draft New National Water Policy

The Union Water Resources Ministry has finalized a committee to draft a new National Water Policy (NWP). It will be chaired by Mihir Shah and he is a former Planning Commission member and a water expert. The National Water Policy currently in force was drafted in 2012 and it is the third such policy since 1987.
