Belgium wins Hockey World Cup 2018

Centre notifies Flight and Maritime Connectivity Rules 2018

The Indian government has paved the way for passengers of air travel and sea voyage to use internet and make calls with their mobile phones in Indian airspace by notifying the Indian Flight and Maritime Connectivity Rules (IFMC), 2018.

Indian and foreign airlines and shipping companies operating in the country can provide in-flight and maritime voice and data services in partnership with a valid Indian telecom license holder.

Shree Saini wins Miss India Worldwide 2018

Indian-American Shree Saini has been crowned Miss India Worldwide 2018 at a pageant held in the Fords City of New Jersey.

Sakshi Sinha from Australia and Anusha Sareen from United Kingdom were respectively declared first and second runner ups in the 27th annual global pageant for people of Indian origin. 

NRTI: India's first Railway University dedicated to Nation

Indian Railways opened the doors of India's first railway university in Vadodara, Gujarat.

It is the first of its kind institution in the nation and the third in the world after Russia and China.

Named the National Rail and Transportation Institution (NRTI), this deemed university will offer professional courses in technology and management of transportation networks.

Bhupesh Baghel to be the CM of Chhattisgarh

Bhupesh Baghel of Congress party is the new chief minister of Chhattisgarh.

Bhupesh started his political career in 1985 after joining the Indian National Congress (INC).

 

Australia Recognizes West Jerusalem as Capital of Israel

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has confirmed that his government will recognize West Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

However, he said Australia's embassy would not move from Tel Aviv, until a peace settlement was achieved.

The status of Jerusalem is one of the most contested issues between Israel and the Palestinians.

Akademik Lomonosov: World’s First Floating Nuclear Power Plant becomes operational

On December 11, 2018, Russia’s Akademik Lomonosov, the world’s first floating nuclear power plant (FNPP) has become operational. The Russian atomic energy corporation Rosatom announced that the plant has been brought to 10% of its capacity.
