CBIC implements a Project ‘SPARROW’ for online writing of APAR

As part of CBIC’s constant endeavor for better HR management, Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC) has implemented a Project ‘SPARROW-CBIC’ for online writing of Annual Performance Appraisal Report (APAR) in SPARROW (Smart Performance Appraisal Report Recording Online Window) for its Group ‘B’ and ‘C’ Officers, working in its various formations all across the country.

Kerala assembly started ‘E-Vidhan’ project to go paperless

Soon, the Kerala state Legislative Assembly will go completely paperless with the state government undertaking an initiative to digitise all records. The state has awarded the work to the Uralungal Labour Contract Cooperative Society and it has started working on the ambitious project called ‘E-Vidhan’ to enable the state legislature to go completely paperless.

Sikkim Statehood Day: 16 May

On May 16, Sikkim celebrated its 43rd statehood day. It was on May 16, 1975 that Sikkim had officially become a state under the Union of India and Kazi Lhendup Dorjee became its first chief minister. Sikkim officially became the 22nd state of the country. Its capital city is Gangtok. Pawan Chamling is a current Chief Minister.

A Merit Based Immigration System proposed by US President

US President Donald Trump has proposed a sweeping change to the immigration system to make it "merit-based" favouring professionals and well-educated people who will be high earners. President called "Build America Visa", new system that favours those with demonstrated potential.

China to host 2023 Asian Cup Football tournament

China will host the Asian Cup Football tournament in 2023. South Korea have abandoned their bid to stage tournament. The AFC Asian Cup is an international association football tournament run by the Asian Football Confederation.

Saudi Arabia approves permanent residency for first time

Saudi Arabia approved a program that offers permanent residency for some foreigners. Under the law, which allows foreigners to own property, those eligible can apply for an indefinite stay or a one-year renewable residency. The government will detail the program’s rules within 90 days.
