NITI Aayog launches India Innovation Index 2019

NITI Aayog with the Institute for Competitiveness as the knowledge partner released the India Innovation Index (III) 2019. Karnataka is the most innovative state in India. Whereas Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Telangana, Haryana, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Gujarat, and Andhra Pradesh were actually in the remaining top 10 major states.

EX-EASTERN BRIDGE-V

From 17th Oct to 26th Oct 2019, Indian Air Force is participating in a Bilateral Joint exercise with Royal Air Force Oman (RAFO), named EX EASTERN BRIDGE-V at Air Force Base Masirah. The last exercise, EX EASTERN BRIDGE-IV was held in 2017 at Jamnagar.

Indian army has inducted US-made and guided Excalibur artillery ammunition

To boost its firepower, the Indian army has inducted US-made precision-guided Excalibur artillery ammunition and indigenous Dhanush howitzer in its inventory. The guided Excalibur is capable to annihilate targets at extended ranges. It is made by American company Raytheon and has been acquired by the Indian Army under fast track procedure. 

Indian Army launches"OASIS"

The Indian Army has begun to digitize its official records under its new programme called Officers Automated Structures Information System(OASIS). Under this programme, the records of the army officers are to be digitized. The software is to be hosted in the Army’s intranet.

The second edition of the Indo-French Knowledge Summit

The 2nd edition of Indo-French Knowledge Summit is being held from 17-18 October 2019 at the University of Lyon in France. This summit is exclusive to higher education, research and innovation. This 2-day summit is an important step to develop and structure the India-France collaborations in fields of education and research and encourage the mobility of students and scholars.

20th Livestock Census

Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying released the 20th Livestock Census report. This release provides key results that reflect the aggregate counts of various species as well as its comparison with the previous census. The total Livestock population is 535.78 million in the country showing an increase of 4.6% over Livestock Census-2012.
