MINISTRY OF FINANCE EXPANDED THE SCOPE OF THE EMERGENCY CREDIT LINE GUARANTEE SCHEME

Recently, the Ministry of Finance expanded the scope of the Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme to Rs 3 lakh crores which will now cover borrowers from the healthcare segment. It aims to give relief to stressed companies in India.

GOLD FOR VINESH PHOGAT WON AT THE ASIAN WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIP

The Indian Wrestler Vinesh Phogat has won her maiden Gold at the Asian Wrestling Championship against Taipei’s Meng Hsuan Hsieh.

GENDER SAMVAAD EVENT LAUNCHED

The Ministry of Rural Development recently launched the Gender Samvaad Event. It is a joint venture between Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana National Rural Livelihood Mission (DAY-NRLM) and Initiative for What Works to Advance Women and Girls in the Economy (IWWAGE). The Gender Samvaad event aimed to spread awareness on gender-related interventions under the DAY-NRLM.

WORLD’S BIGGEST UNDERWATER NEUTRINO TELESCOPES LAUNCHED

Russian scientists have launched one of the world’s biggest underwater neutrino telescopes called the Baikal-GVD (Gigaton Volume Detector) in the waters of Lake Baikal, the world’s deepest lake situated in Siberia. It is designed to detect high-energy neutrinos that may have come from the Earth’s core, or could have been produced during nuclear reactions in the Sun.

WISDEN AWARD 2021 ANNOUNCED

Wisden Award 2021 announced. Jason Holder, Mohammed Rizwan, Dominic Sibley, Zak Crawley, and Darren Stevens have been awarded Wisden Cricketers of the Year 2021.

Virat Kohli is the 2010 ODI cricketer of Wisden Almanac. England all-rounder Ben Stokes is the 'Leading Cricketer of the Year'. Beth Mooney of Australia is 'Leading Women Cricketer in the World'.

FIRST-EVER ONLINE EXHIBITION ON RAMAYANA

Tourism and Culture Minister Prahlad Singh Patel has inaugurated the first-ever online exhibition on Ramayana. The online exhibition showcases forty nine miniature paintings collections of National Museum, New Delhi from different art schools of India. It will be dating from the 17th through the 19th century.

S-400 TRIUMF SA-21 DELIVERY CONSENTED

The Russian Government has consented to deliver the 1st regimental set of S-400 Triumf SA-21 Growler Air Defence System to India. Russia and India have signed a 5.43 billion USD contract on the defence system. 

S-400 Triumf SA-21 Growler is a mobile, surface-to-air missile system (SAM) designed by Russia.
