EIGHT INDIAN BEACHES RECOMMENDED FOR COVETED BLUE FLAG INTERNATIONAL ECO-LABEL

Eight beaches of India are recommended for the coveted International eco-label, the Blue flag certification. The eight beaches are Shivrajpur in Gujarat, Ghoghla in Daman&Diu, Kasarkod and Padubidri beach in Karnataka, Kappad in Kerala, Rushikonda in Andhra Pradesh, Golden beach of Odisha and Radhanagar beach in Andaman and Nicobar.

RAJYA SABHA PASSES INSOLVENCY AND BANKRUPTCY CODE (SECOND AMENDMENT) BILL, 2020

The Parliament passed the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (Second Amendment) Bill, 2020. It amends the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code 2016 which seeks to provide a time bound process for resolving insolvency in companies and among individuals. It seeks to temporarily suspend initiation of the corporate insolvency resolution process(CIRP) under the Code. 

EXPLAINED : WORLD BAMBOO DAY

World Bamboo Day is celebrated every year on 18th September. 

According to the National Bamboo Mission, India has the highest area (13.96 million hectares) under bamboo and is the second richest country after China in terms of bamboo diversity with 136 species.

EXPLAINED : VAIBHAV SUMMIT

Vaishwik Bharatiya Vaigyanik (VAIBHAV) Summit is a collaborative initiative by S&T and Academic Organisations of India which enables deliberations on thought process, practices and R&D culture with a problem solving approach for well defined objectives. It will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister on 2nd October’2020.

EXPLAINED : SAMARTH SCHEME FOR TEXTILE SECTOR

The ‘Scheme for Capacity Building in Textile Sector (SCBTS)’ to be known by the name “समर्थ (Samarth)”, which signifies the broad objective of the scheme to skill the youth for gainful and sustainable employment in the textile sector.
